The Hawaiian surfer Keala Kennelly, undisputed number one of the female big wave surfing and a living legend of sports, confirms her intention to challenge la Vaca Gigante By Oakley.
The Canary Iballa Ruano also accepts the invitation to face La Vaca Gigante, being the sixth rider to accept the challenge among the eight possible competitors who the female heat admits.
Cantabria will be the scene for an exclusive event due to the high level of its participants, great international big wave riders. Kealla Kennelly adds her name to a list of great leading figures such as the South African Grant “Twig” Baker and also the Hawaiian Aaron Gold.

La Vaca Gigante By Oakley is overcoming all kinds of expectations created after revealing the aim of some of the best big waves riders to participate in this event.
This is the case of the best female big waves rider at global level. The Hawaiian Keala Kennelly has accepted the invitation from La Vaca Gigante by Oakley to attend the Cantabrian event.
The initiative at global level- which has caused quite a stir in the international circuit– created by ObessionA2 Club to count with female riders and create their own division, has stirred up the worldwide surfing.

The answer of great female stars to the mooing of La Vaca Gigante has not taken long. This is the case of the best surfer of all time, the Hawaiian star Keala Kennelly who supports the Cantabrian event.
Kenelly has just been honored with the prestigious XXL Big Wave Barrel of the year 2016 Award, a global recognition for all female and male professional surfers. Her record book counts with titles such as Winner of the first ever women’s Big Wave World Tour Event at Nelscott reef or Winner of the WICKRX Super Sessions at Mavericks.
What is more, Kennelly can say that she has been one of the competitors for the WSL World Title of the year 2003, 4 time winner of the Teahupoo Women’s Pro or 3x winner of the XXL BIGWAVE women’s performance award. Kennelly is an activist for the rights of sportswomen in the World’s circuit.
IBALLA RUANO, THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY CANARY RIDER
Along with Keana Kennelly, La Vaca Gigante By Oakley will count with another surfer in the list of the 8 possible contenders for answering the mooing of the most XXL Vaca.
The multidisciplinary Canary Iballa Ruano has accepted the challenge, being the second Spanish female rider present in La Vaca Gigante By Oakley. From Pozo Izquierdo, she is an example as professional multidisciplinary sportswoman including sports such as Windsurf, Waves SUP or surf. She possesses 7 Windsurfing global titles. The woman of the Challenges has already one more coming: La Vaca Gigante By Oakley.
Along with Keala Kennelly and Iballa Ruano there are already six women who will challenge the most XXL Cantabrian Vaca.
