The World Surf League recognizes the Cantabrian event La Vaca Gigante, inviting the winner of La Vaca Gigante 2015, Alex Zirke, to its only big wave surfing event in Spain, Punta Galea Challenge whose waiting period goes from October 15 to February 28.

“ I can not believe it. I’m proud of being able to participate with some of the best professional surfers of the world”, the Canarian Zirke declared after hearing the announcement from ObsessionA2, La Vaca Gigante by Oakley’s organizer.

Few days ago, the Organization of the Cantabrian event of big waves La Vaca Gigante by Oakley recieved the official confirmation from the World Surf League (WSL) of an incredible incident and a true recognition for the Cantabrian competition which this time counts with the collaboration of Oakley as main sponsor.
The World Surf League, main surfing organization at global level, has recognized La Vaca Gigante by an invitation to the winner of La Vaca Gigante 2015, the Canarian Alex Zurke, to its only big wave surfing event in Spain “Punta Galea Challenge” which is held in the Basque Country.
The winner of the last edition of La Vaca Gigante, Alex Zurke, will count with a “wildcard” to participate by specific invitation from the WSL to its big wave surfing competition in Spain, Punta Galea Challenge, after his victory in the Cantabrian big wave surfing event.
The Canarian has been informed by La Vaca Gigante by Oakley’s organizer, ObsessionA2 Club, of this amazing announcement which offers him a seat in the big wave event organized by the WSL: ““ I can not believe it. I’m proud of being able to participate with some of the best professional surfers of the world”, the Canarian Zirke declared after hearing the announcement from ObsessionA2, La Vaca Gigante by Oakley’s organizer.

A HUGE RECOGNITION FOR CANTABRIA, OBSESSIONA2 CLUB AND LA VACA GIGANTE
The Organization, which is arranging the last details for the launch of La Vaca Gigante by Oakley, has gladly recieved the announcement – as it has been declared by Pedro García, ObsessionA2 Club’s Director – because of what this show of support from the WSL means to one of the most famous sporting events in Spain: “ For all the members of ObsessionA2 Club who are working on this new edition, the invitation to the winner of the last edition of La Vaca Gigante Alex Zirke is a great pride and honor”; adding: “It is a big recognition to all of us: Alex Zirke, La Vaca Gigante and, without a doubt, to Cantabria which is placed in the International surfing spotlight thanks to the only seat of our country to the WSL’s event.
